Become a Sit Still Franchise Owner

Unique. Industry-disrupting. Turn-key business model. There’s nothing like Sit Still out there — and you can be a part of it.

Put Simply, Sit Still is a Cut Above.

When Nhu Vo first opened Sit Still in 2007, she knew she was onto something. Because there’s literally nothing in the marketplace like it. Sit Still stands out as a modern, curated and colorful lighthouse against a sea of cheesy, dated kids’ salons. Sit Still strikes the ultimate balance of aspiration meets approachability. Our salons are inviting and sophisticated without being fussy, and it is this thoughtful strategy that positions Sit Still as the clear leader in the category. We’ve built a brand, a business model and a long-term vision that has Sit Still salons in every major city across the country. Here’s how we’re doing it: we’re partnering with strong owners committed to bringing a revolutionary concept to their own community. Yes, hair salons have been around forever, but no one in the kid’s category is nailing it for the modern family. Sit Still is changing that.

Led by Franchise Industry Veterans

After successfully owning and operating the original Sit Still location for 11 years, Nhu Vo was ready to grow. The question was “how?”

Enter Amy, Caroline and Jenni.

With 33 years of combined experience building and growing a very successful brand in the lifestyle space, the Sit Still team is poised to take the company to every corner of the country over the next few years in a smart and sustainable fashion.

This team of women learned the ropes at barre3—an exercise studio franchise also based in Portland, Oregon. Everything from franchise sales, business development, marketing, real estate, construction, legal, compliance, training, ongoing education, concept evolution were all areas of the business that Amy, Caroline, and Jenni built and grew at barre3. By the time these three women left their posts, after nearly 10 years, they had grown the concept from a handful of locations to over 150 nationally and internally. Now this team is ready to take the Sit Still opportunity and actualize it alongside their franchisees.

The Support You’ll Get

We’re here for you. Sit Still’s executive leadership is comprised of three franchise industry veterans, with over 30 years’ combined expertise in scaling a business — materializing it from concept to a multi-location, multi-national brand. These franchise wizards all also happen to be moms who have used their own IRL experiences to shape the Sit Still business.

Joining Sit Still means you have access to both their and their team’s franchising wisdom, ensuring consistency and ease throughout the process. Sit Still offers support to our partners every step of the way, including:

Site selection
Salon design and construction
Recruitment, training and development
Launch strategy, from pre-sale through grand opening
Sales, marketing and branding
Retail selection and optimization
Continuing education
Goal-setting
Work/Life balance coaching

Additionally, Sit Still is dedicated to ongoing research and development, which is passed directly to each franchise partner. Our training and support is always evolving, but our commitment to educating our owners and their teams on the “why’s” and the “how’s” starts on day one.

Getting to Ownership

Do your homework
Do some research on the industry, and on us! There is a lot of information out there on what it means to buy a franchise and plenty of details on the salon and beauty industry.
Hop on a call
Got questions? We’ve got answers. The next step is a good old-fashioned phone call with a member of our franchise team.
Apply
Fill out our questionnaire. This allows you to understand what is important to us, and of course, helps us get to know you better. By no means is the questionnaire a “make or break”, but it is a place for you to tell your personal and professional story and shine!
Get our Franchise Disclosure Agreement
After speaking with someone from our franchise team, you will be sent our FDD. The FDD maps out in detail the Sit Still program and terms that govern our business and franchise relations.
Experience Sit Still IRL
A trip to Portland for our discovery day allows candidates to see the magic of Sit Still in person, meet our executive team and get the full scoop on how the franchisor-franchisee relationship works. It’s the final step of approval, before you…
Sign a Sit Still Franchise Agreement!
It’s official! The papers are signed (within three weeks of approval), the champagne’s been popped, and you’re off and running. Yep — you’re on your way toward opening your very first Sit Still — with lots of guidance and support from us along the way. You won’t be on your own: we’ll help you find the perfect location, make it special, hire and train a team, and ensure everyone in your community knows about the coolest new kid’s salon in town.
