Put Simply, Sit Still is a Cut Above.
Led by Franchise Industry Veterans
After successfully owning and operating the original Sit Still location for 11 years, Nhu Vo was ready to grow. The question was “how?”
Enter Amy, Caroline and Jenni.
With 33 years of combined experience building and growing a very successful brand in the lifestyle space, the Sit Still team is poised to take the company to every corner of the country over the next few years in a smart and sustainable fashion.
This team of women learned the ropes at barre3—an exercise studio franchise also based in Portland, Oregon. Everything from franchise sales, business development, marketing, real estate, construction, legal, compliance, training, ongoing education, concept evolution were all areas of the business that Amy, Caroline, and Jenni built and grew at barre3. By the time these three women left their posts, after nearly 10 years, they had grown the concept from a handful of locations to over 150 nationally and internally. Now this team is ready to take the Sit Still opportunity and actualize it alongside their franchisees.
Amy Leclerc knows everyone, and her ability to build exceptional relationships, is Amy’s unique superpower. Her role at Sit Still is to keep the engine humming smoothly, ensuring the brand stays true to its values, and the team connected and laser-focused on its goals — so that the work stays in the flow, efficient and (most importantly) fun. Amy’s career began in New York City, where she spent ten years in the media industry, cutting her teeth at Grey Advertising, which led to selling ads for the fashion magazine, NYLON. After a move to Oregon, Amy made a complete career pivot, following her love of exercise into a 10-year career running sales and business development for the boutique fitness brand barre3. At barre3, Amy was instrumental in building the business, scaling it from a scrappy startup into a cult brand with over 150 franchise locations.
Under her leadership, Sit Still has the ability to grow quickly, with a proven model and turnkey systems. When Amy’s not running Sit Still, she’s traveling, hanging out with her Frenchie husband and two kids, and listening to her favorite podcast, Armchair Expert.
Jenni Johnson loves puzzles. And if you think about it, her career path is about putting pieces into place. Formerly a chiropractor in private practice, Jenni spent the majority of her career as a business consultant overseeing operations of 100-plus franchises at barre3, with her most recent post leading a team focused on all aspects of the client experience across the network. The common thread? Her job has always been about operations: diagnosing and diving into the details — and problem-solving, developing solutions, and constantly fine-tuning them. And that’s why Jenni is in charge of Sit Still’s systems and protocols, making sure the client experience is on-brand and consistent, and overseeing the financial well-being of all facets of the business. After hours, Jenni’s the mother of twin girls, and loves to re-center through movement — either on the yoga mat or out on a mountain path.
Caroline Weiner’s entrepreneurial spirit and hustle looms large at Sit Still. While living overseas in China, she kicked off her career running her own jewelry business as a one-woman shop, designing, sourcing precious gems worldwide, developing manufacturing relationships in Asia and selling the jewelry in the US. After she and her husband moved back to the US, Caroline decided to slow down a bit, managing a Seattle Barre3 franchise. Soon, she was elevated from that role to the B3 home office, where she worked closely with both Amy and Jenni — first running franchise operations, then new studio openings and finally, renewals and resales. At Sit Still, Caroline manages everything building up to the opening of the franchise, including high-level project management, preparing franchisees with marketing solutions, making sure franchisees are sticking to the critical path — and after opening, ensuring they’re compliant with the brand and legal guidelines. When she’s not at Sit Still, Caroline is exploring Seattle with her husband and two young kiddos, and spending the rainy season snow-birding in Florida.
Sit Still is Nhu’s brainchild — a combination of her years as a visual merchandiser for The Gap, an event planner at the Regent Beverly Wilshire in LA, and a career in footwear at Nike. This woman knows her way around a retail concept and is obsessed with the client experience.
Eleven years ago, as the mother of young twins, Nhu’s travel schedule became … cumbersome. And after dialing it back a bit, Nhu eventually decided to stay put and open her own shop. Nhu knew what she wanted, and is the kind of person that is not only up for the challenge, but can make it happen — and make it a success. Nhu’s outgoing personality, combined with a keen eye for style trends and business innovation, led to the unique Sit Still concept.
